Class Descriptions

Classes are generally held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and start at 6:00 PM till 8:30PM. However we understand that weekdays may not work for everyone and we will try to accommodate anyone who are sincerely interested in learning this wonderful Art form and we’re sure we can work out a time with you if you will contact our Studio.

We are always encouraging interested customers to become students and learn the “Art of Stained Glass”. Please check out our List below of the many different Classes we offer to peak your interest in this beautiful media. Carole schedules her classes to only work with up to 7 persons in each class so she can devote more time on a one-on-one basis with them. This way you have her undivided attention and everyone gets the same amount of time to learn.

BEGINNING CLASS – call for pricing

BEGINNING CLASS – call for pricing

The class is set up 1 day per week for 6 weeks. The student will be asked to visit the studio and is given a choice from a dozen Basic Stain Glass Patterns to choose from. He/she shall than spend time prior to the class beginning to pick out colors and the glass for their particular project. On the day that the class begins, Carole will then instruct you in the basic techniques of handling glass, working with textures briefly, performing simple straight and curvilinear cuts, cutting patterns, grinding, foiling, simple fitting, squaring and soldering. The following day you will progress to working with the patterns and grinding. The following classes you will learn fiting, squaring, foiling and soldering.

This class will definitely introduce you to this fine Art and the joys of finishing your own elegant and one of kind unique piece of stained glass which you will hang with great pride.

Note: Completing one simple project is a great feeling, however as with anything new; “Practice makes Perfect”. Our studio is open to help you practice, Please feel free to stop by anytime during our open hours. Thanks

ADVANCED CLASS – call for pricing

ADVANCED CLASS – call for pricing

The class is set up 1 day per week for 6 weeks. The student will be asked to visit the studio and is given a chance to choose an Intricate and interesting pre-designed Stained Glass Pattern with Carole’s guidance from many available at the Studio. He/she shall than spend time prior to the class beginning to pick out colors and the glass for their particular project. On the day that the class begins and each class thereafter, Carole will then instruct you in the advanced techniques of more intricate cuts; fine detailing using the glass textures, grain, and color; then squaring up the project for fitting, reinforcing, and more soldering techniques of style and types. Then you continue until completion.

This class will definitely introduce you to the advanced Art and again bring the rewarding results and joys of finishing your own breathtakingly elegant and one of kind highly unique piece of stained glass which you will display with tremendous pride.

Note: This class requires at least finishing your first Beginner Class

PANEL LAMP CLASS – call for pricing

PANEL LAMP CLASS – call for pricing

The class is set up 1 day per week for 6 weeks. The student will be asked to visit the studio and is given a chance to choose from a large array of lamp patterns and designs with Carole’s guidance from many available at the Studio. He/she shall than spend time prior to the class beginning to pick out colors and the glass for their particular project. On the day that the class begins and each class thereafter, Carole will then instruct you in the basic techniques such as cutting, grinding, lamp panel fitting, and constructing their lamp shade. Then you continue until completion.

This class will introduce you to the fine Art of stained glass lamp fabrication and prepare you to move on to a more intricate lamp construction such as Tiffany Lamps if you want to move on.

TIFFANY LAMP CLASS – call for pricing

The class is set up 1 day per week for 6 weeks. The student will be asked to visit the studio and is given a chance to choose from a large array of lamp patterns and designs with Carole’s guidance from many available at the Studio. Carole will also help you to meet your dacor requirements for the design you would like to complete. He/she shall than spend time prior to the class beginning to pick out colors and the glass for their particular project. On the day that the class begins and each class thereafter, Carole will then instruct you in the intricate and painstaking procedures in cutting, grinding, and fitting each piece to your lamp. She will continue to instruct each student on the procedures to develop and construct your lamp pieces on the form and then will guide you further along to help with the techniques of soldering and finishing one of your soon to be most treasured legacy piece of Art.

This class will again introduce you to the fine Art of a beautiful style of stained glass lamp fabrication and leave you with one of America’s most sought after legacy glass art piece’s that much of the country longs for.

GARDEN STONE CLASSES – call for pricing

The class is set up for working 2-3 days (evenings). This seems to be one of the most sought after classes that Carole instructs and we believe the reason is, that it is not a class that requires a lot of techniques to come out with a beautiful piece of dacor for outside. This class seems to be the second most popular and fills up relatively quick. The student will be asked to visit the studio and is given a choice from many Stain Glass Patterns to choose from. He/she shall than spend time prior to the class beginning to pick out colors and the glass for their particular project. On the day that the class begins, Carole will then instruct you in the basic techniques of handling glass, working with textures briefly, performing simple straight and curvilinear cuts, cutting patterns, grinding, fitting, and applying the pattern in a form for pouring of the stone. After the piece cures 3 days you will remove and clean your project for taking it home.

This class will introduce you to a new unique experience with the use of stained glass and give you a sense of joy in completing your own piece of Art.

PATTERNED MOSAIC DACOR CLASSES – call for pricing

PATTERNED MOSAIC DACOR CLASSES – call for pricing

The class is set up for working 2-3 days (evenings). This seems to be the most sought after classes that Carole instructs at this time and we believe the reason is, that it is not a class that requires a lot of techniques to come out with a unique and beautiful piece of dacor for inside or outside. This class seems to be the most popular and fills up very quickly. The student will be asked to visit the studio and is given a choice from several Basic Wood Patterns or may bring a custom idea to use for their piece. He/she may also spend time prior to the class beginning, to pick out colors and the glass for their particular project if they desire. On the day that the class begins, Carole will then instruct you in the basic techniques of handling glass, performing simple glass cuts, grinding, gluing, fitting, and applying the pieces to your wood pattern. Then you will be versed on grouting your finished pattern and the techniques in cleaning and polishing it as a finished piece.

This class will introduce you to another new unique experience with the use of stained glass and give you a sense of joy in completing your own piece with your scraps from other projects you have finished or you may purchase containers of scrap glass in the Shop.

PATTERNED MOSAIC GLASS BLOCK CLASSES – call for pricing

The class is set up for working 3 days (evenings). This also seems to be another sought after class that Carole instructs and we believe the reason is, that it is not a class that requires a lot of techniques to come out with a unique and beautiful piece of dacor for inside or outside. This class also fills up very quickly. The student will be given a glass block (included with the cost of the class) and decide whether they will use it as a lamp or a bank. He/she may spend time prior to the class beginning, to pick out colors and the glass for their particular project if they desire. On the day that the class begins, Carole will then instruct you in the basic techniques of handling glass, performing simple glass cuts, grinding, gluing, fitting, and applying the pieces to your block on one side with a pattern you will choose. Then you will be versed on grouting your finished pattern and the techniques in cleaning and polishing it as a finished piece.

This class will also introduce you to even another new unique experience with the use of stained glass and give you a sense of joy in completing your own piece with your scraps from other projects you have finished or you may purchase containers of scrap glass in the Shop.

MAKE AND TAKE CLASSES – call for pricing

The class is set up for working 1-2 days (evenings). These classes also fill up very quickly. The student will be asked to pick glass (included with the cost of the class) for their project. He/she may spend time prior to the class beginning if they like, too pick out colors and the glass for their particular project. On the day that the class begins, Carole will then instruct you in the basic techniques of handling glass, performing simple glass cuts, grinding, gluing, fitting, and applying the pattern to your glass on one side. Then you will be versed on cutting, fitting and techniques in cleaning and polishing them.

This class is designed to introduce you to even another new unique experience with the use of stained glass and give you a sense of joy in completing your own piece with this wonderful media.

These single classes are for projects such as 3D Moravian Star, Trivets or Beveled Candleholders, or Kaledascopes, Filigree Butterflies, Stand-up Picture Frames, or Nymphs, Angels’, Christmas Trees, Ornaments and so much more.
